Panama Mission Trip: Day 1

Well we are here in Panama City, Panama at a beautiful hotel! We arrived at seven exactly and got threw customs just fine.

We left this morning bright and early(8:45) and drove to Memphis. When we arrived everything went smoothly. All of our bags were under fifty pounds and everyone(minus Hayden and Heath) got threw customs easily. Don't worry it was nothing huge, they just looked suspicious :). We ate some good food and boarded easily. The plane we took out of Memphis was a small plane and for some of us first time fliers that was a little nerve racking! It took us about an hour and a half to make it to the HUGE airport in Houston. Everything in Houston also went smoothly. Some of us got some tasty Jamba Juice and loaded for our next flight of exactly three hours and forty minutes. As soon as we got on the plane we were given the privilege to watch 'How to train a dragon' and given our dinner at 3 o'clock. The view was BEAUTIFUL in the plane though! Especially flying over the gulf! It really made you stop and take in all of God's handy work. We had our first meal in Panama tonight which really reminded me that I am the minority and most of the people cant understand me. Ordering was NOT easy and lets just say i learned to only order the easy stuff, like a chicken sandwich or just chicken. AVOID SEAFOOD ENTREES!!

When we got here we got to meet Mark and Miriam Upton, and Chris Taylor who are very nice and will be wonderful to work with. Today has been a wonderful day full of adventures and first for everyone. I pray that tomorrow will be filled with just as many blessings as today.

Our chaperones seem to be getting a little to comfortable with each other!
